Aims and Objectives
Bournemouth is a vibrant resort and business centre with a thriving and diverse community, a town attracting visitors from all markets and places, providing a living environment for people to use and enjoy. Bournemouth Town Watch strives to reflect this in all its policies and aims, with a desire to play a central role in moving Bournemouth forward.

It is not just about management principles, codes of practice, and a safe town for all although these are important. It is about participating in the wider picture, having a positive attitude in any dealings with the council, police and regulatory authorities, but also to speak plainly, and loudly if necessary, when standing up for the beliefs of the night time trade and pursuing actions felt to be beneficial to people as a whole. Town Watch will always engage and prefer to encourage and motivate change rather than just to gripe and whinge ineffectively.
This comes from a solid track record in maintaining a strong membership, having venues with a proven commitment to upholding codes of practice, and as the 2007 Regional and National winners of the Pubwatch Award for Social Responsibility.
Also, lest we forget, the organisation is here to support and promote its members either individually or as a group, we want our venues to enjoy the feel good factor, and more importantly our customers to enjoy the experience of Bournemouth by night!
